COUPLE MARRIED TWICE

WIFE GRANTED DIVORCE The story of a couple being married twice was told in the Supreme Court yesterday, when May Perry (Mr. Singer) petitioned for divorce from William Arthur Perry. Petitioner said she went through a form of marriage with the respondent on May 15, 1922. She later learned that he had a wife alive at the time. Tried for bigamy, he was acquitted, and divorced his wife. He then went through a second form of marriage with the petitioner in June, 1924. She kept her husband by working as manageress of a soda fountain in Christchurch. He suddenly left in August, 1924. Failing to find him, she came to live in Auckland with her mother. She had seen or heard nothing of the respondent since the separation.

Mr. Justice Blair granted a decree nisi.
