FIRE BRIGADES’ OLD BOYS

ANNUAL MEETING HELD Last evening the 21st annual meeting of the old boys and honorary members of the Fire Brigades and Salvage Corps’ Association of New Zealand was held, the chairman, M.r. A. Austin, presiding. Mention was made of the work of Mr. J. Stitchbury, who had been secretary of the Veterans’ Association for 25 years, and of Mr. T. Smith and exCaptain J. E. Williams, who has just competed 39 years of continuous service with the Mount Eden Fire Brigade.

The following officers were elected: President, Mr. E. Archer; vice-presi-dents, Mr. H. Bowman and Mr. H. Carrington; secretary, Mr. H. Jane; treasurer, Mr. A. E. Eagleton; auditors, Mr. A. Joynt and Mr. T. McKay: committee, ex-Captain H. Butler, Mr. A. Prichard, ex-Captain J. Williams, Mr. A. Austin and Mr. W. Hunt.
