RANGITOTO ROAD NEARLY COM P LET ED-The Summit Road on Rangitoto Island has now reached the saddle at the left of the crater, looking from the city. This is the highest elevation that will be reached by the road, and is within a few chains of the summit. A suitable parking place is available in the saddle for 50 to 60 cars. The road will be carried down the ridge running toward the St. Heliers side of the mountain, and connect with the roadway from the wharf to Islington Bay, which is to be widened to 16ft for the use of vehicles*
