1 $ css Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. Cyril Sydney Arthur Miller, aged 39, a salesman, was to-day sentenced to six months’ hard labour by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., for assaulting Mary Miller, an elderly woman, with whom he lived. The police said the woman had an interest in an hotel in the South and when this money became due accused beat her unmercifully to obtain some. Accused said the woman fell down. The Magistrate: Well, she won’t fall again. Six months’ hard labour!
