SCREAMS OF AGONY
YOUTH ON POWER-LINE SUSPENDED FOR 45 MINUTES (From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, To-day. There was an extraordinary occurrence at Wesleyan Valley, about a mile from Thames, last eveningwhen a youth, Roderick Fraser Langsford, was found hanging on an electric power-line carrying only 400 volts. On the same post was a line carrying 11,000 volts, but fortunately th© fuse had blown out further up ‘ the line, otherwise the man would have been killed. After 45 minutes he w;/ released, but his screams of agony attracted a lot of people, who feared to touch him in case they received a shock. He is now unconscious in the hospital. H© was not employed by the Power Board, which has sent an official t« investigate.
