WAIHI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
PROPOSED SHOPPING WEEK The annual report of the Waihi Chamber of Commerce showed that various questions relating to the town and district had received attention, and the balance sheet disclosed a credit balance of £24 7s 4d. Mr. J. B. Beeche, who presided at the annual meeting, was re-elected president, Mr. J. Moorehead vice-presi-dent, and Mr. P. Learmouth secretary and treasurer. Mr. J. Whitehead, who retired from the secretaryship, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services to the chamber during his long term of office. The committee will be composed of Messs. P. G. Brady, J. Whitehead. G. H. Brown and E. McLeay. The question of holding a shopping week in Waihi was discussed and will be considered again later.
