Harriers’ Cup. —ln the contest for Sanders Cup at Masterton. the Hutt Valley Harriers beat Masterton, the holders, by 15 points. Drunk And Disorderly. —James Dixon Hunter, aged 26, charged at the Police Court to-day with being disorderly while drunk at the Seamen’s Institute, was fined £l. Child Swallows Nail. —A child of two. Frederick Brokenshire, swallowed a nail at his parents’ home in Silverdale yesterday. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, but his condition is not serious. Car Ablaze. —Fire partially destroyed a six-seater motor-car in s • Remuera, on Sunday morning. Before the Remuera brigade cuiiid tinguish the blaze the upholstery had been badly damaged. The owner is not known. Historic Mangere. —Members of the Maori Race Section of the Auckland Institute W'ill hold a field day on Saturday at Mangere. Mr. George Graham, the Auckland Maori authority, will explain the historical features of the district. Fall From Tram. —James McCormack, a 15-year-old schoolboy, fell from a tram-car in Karangahape Road yesterday afternoon, injuring his back slightly. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. He lives at 1 ; Codrington Street, Grey Lynn. Waterside Worker Injured. —A bundle j of steel rails struck Mr. W. C. Coy as ' he was working on the steamer Vai- ’ piata at Prince’s Wharf early last | evening, breaking his jaw. He was j taken to hospital by the St. John Am- ! bulance, and later returned to his home '■ at 196 Khyber Pass.
