WHANGAREI LOANS
PROPOSALS FOR £56,000 APPROVED DRAINAGE, PARKS AND LIBRARY (From Our Own Correspondent) WHANGAREI, To-day. Loan proposals involving an expenditure of £56,000 were approved at a special meeting of the Whangarei Borough Council last evening. They include the improvement and extension of the borough drainage system to cape with expansion of the town and costing in round figures £50,000, a parks improvement loan of £2,000 and a library extension loan of £1,300. Whangarei has over 600 acres of parks and reserves, and the natural beauty of Central Park in the heart of the town specially lends itself to developments, which is the object of the loan.
