Busy Scene at Epsom
TRACK IN FAIR ORDER | SOLID WORK UNDERTAKEN There was a large attendance of spectators at Alexandra Park this morning to witness the final work I in preparation for to-morrow’s racing. The track had dried and | was in very fair order, encouragJ ing many trainers to indulge their charges in fast work. Roma Bingen trotted solidly over several circuits with a light boy in the saddle. The mare made no mistakes, and if the going is firm tomorrow should make a good showing. Kolmar worked in attractive style for C. Willetts and infused a lot of dash into his work. He has never been in better condition. Loch Moigh, who looks all the better for his race on Saturday, paced several circuits at a bold clip. The Palmerston North pacer is coming right. Peterwah delighted the onlookers by the faultless manner in which he traversed several rounds. He had Napland as a companion, and the latter also worked well. Bing Boy Hits Out R. Berry warmed Bing Boy up and the grey moved attractively. He is in fine order and is one that may upset the calculations in the Adams Memorial Cup. The same trainer hustled Petroleuse along and the little trotter hit out boldly and showed plenty of dash. Gold Dial paced free-legged, showing a good turn of speed and making friends for her engagements to-mor-row. The Wellsford mare has a show in the Adams Cup. Raima delighted his supporters again by the manner in which he accomplished a task over several circuits his exhibition being faultless. The Shrew was given useful exercise and is ready for her two-mile essay. Gold Jacket (L. McMahon) was given easy pacing work without the straps. The Mark Memorial winner looks all the better fo.r his Saturday’s exertion and promises to be a popular selection again to-morrow. Native Prince indulged in a solid task over two miles, moving nicely. Jewel Pointer was galloped beside his stable-mate. The latter will race better the second day and may effect a surprise in the final heat of the fixture. Hendricksen’s Pair O.K. Cardinal Logan took the eye when stepped briskly over several circuits by A. Rattray. The big fellow is in great heart and ready for a good fight. The same reinsman hustled Daytime along, and the Nelson Bingen horse won a lot of admirers for his effort. Parkwood (J. Bryce, Jnr.), was given speedy work, but tangled badly when the pressure was om Free Advice, looking none the worse for her exertion on Saturday, paced nicely over several rounds. Tiger Salve trotted in a manner that suggested he will prove a nuisance to the opposition if the footing is firmer to-morrow. Dillon. Huon with Alex Corrigan in the sulky, dashed over several furlongs in resolute fashion. Sister Beatrice was worked in saddle and did a useful task. Tamerlane (A. E. Bussell) did strong work over a journey. The Southern trotter looks as if he will be benefited by the race on Saturday. The Two-Year-Olds The two-year-old trotter First Wrack (D. Warren) created additional interest by her work out in which she handled the going nicely. Shortly afterwards, J. Shaw trotted Koro Peter over several circuits and the Peter Moko gelding went solidly. Another two-year-old in the pacing son of Great Audubon and Miss Rolfe was worked by A. Julian, and the Derby candidate attracted considerable attention by his fine style. Practically all the other horses engaged at the fixture were on the track, but were indulged in either jogging or walking exercise.
