Wharncliffe Under a Cloud Wharncliffe gave his connections some cause for anxiety on Saturday, when one of his legs filled slightly. There was some improvement on Sunday, but it was thought wise to secure veterinary attention later. The exoert view is that the trouble is not serious, and though he may figure in bandages, no interruption in his preparation is anticipated. Wharncliffe has been schooled over the Riccarton fences three times. and as he has shown a great natural aptitude for jumping country it is unlikely that he will be further tested in the meantime.
