The secretary, Mr. K. C. Purdie, said that Mr. Crawford believed it wuwrong to put slightly retarded children in the same room with advanced one^. The chairman suggested that the board should write to the department and ask when the head of the defectn children branch would be coming to Auckland. "If we can give better education tv these children it is our duty to do so, - said Mr. Burns. Mrs. N. E. Ferner said that it was a very great hardship on many parents ; to have to send their children to Sumner. The chairman's suggestion was | adopted.
