RAILWAYS SUBJECTS DISCUSSED Messrs. A. W. Wellsted, commercial agent, and J. Hutcheson, district superintendent, Ohakune. of the Railway Department, were in Otorohanga yesterday afternoon to confer with members of the Chamber of Commerce. At a public meeting in the evening business men had an opportunity of raising the questions ot dangerous level-crossings, stockyard drainage, shingle freights, improvements to the station yards, and the better ligating of that portion of the platform on which the postal box is situatedL Mr. Wellsted, in reply, promised that the representations would be sympathetically considered, and Mr. Hutcheson said that he would endeavour to arrange for the provision, of an extra light on the platform. After the meeting the railway officials were the guests of the chamber at supper.
