WAIKATO IS QUIETER LEADERS SHOW RETICENCE (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Wednesday. Beyond occasional newspaper correspondence, the Anglican controversy appears to have died down in Hct;~llton church circles. A few weeks ago the opponents to what has been described as “Romish practices" at the Cathedral, most of whom are members of the new Chapter, formed themselves into a body known as the Churchmen’s Society. . The aims of this society were, it was stated at the time, to follow the teachings of the Prayer Book and to discourage the use of unauthorised ritual in the Church. It was stated a public meeting of those interested would be called shortly to increase the membership and to gain sympathy for the movement. Several weeks have elapsed since the meeting, and Anglican affairs have gone on smoothly enough.
