The New Zealand Trotting Board considered on Saturday what is known as the “Free Advice Case.” After the Eclipse Handicap at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting, James Bryce was fined £25 for alleged wilful interference. Bryce appealed to the New Zealand Trotting Association, which referred the appeal back to the club for further consideration. The club decided, at a meeting on May 9, to adhere to the decision of its I judicial committee in fining Bryce, on the grounds that the fresh evidence I brought forward was of no value. I The Trotting Board has now decided j to refer the finding back to the club, to inquire upon what portion of the j evidence it found that the interference ; was wilful.
