CASH, NOT FINERY

A GIRL whose coat had been stolen from a dance hall valued the coat at £2 10s when she gave evidence at the Police Court today.

When the case was over, the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, ordered that the coat should be returned to her. As an after-thought, he said that she might prefer the money.

“I’d rather have the £2 10s,” the girl called in decisive voice from the back of the court.
