REGATTA DANCE

NORTHCOTE FUNCTION A very successful function was held, in the Onewa Picturedrome, Northcote, on Thursday evening, when the Northcote and Birkenhead Regatta Club held its annual prize-giving dance. Cheery dance music was played by the “Syncopaters,” who introduced several new numbers, and balloons and streamers added considerably to the gaiety of the scene. Mr. Greenslade, the Mayor of Northcote, presented the prizes and during the evening speeches were made by Mr. Campbell, the Regatta Club president, and Mr. Wilkinson. Among the ladies present were: Mrs' Maxwell, frock of floral ninon and lace. Mrs. Robertson, delphinium blue crepe de chine banded in deeper blue, with embroidered relief of ivory. Mrs. A. Clark, black crepe de chine gown relieved with bois de rose. Mrs. S. Lowe, jade green georgette frock with transparent hem of silver lace. Mrs. Herrick, petunia georgette gown with tiered skirt. Mrs. Fernley, navy crepe de chine embroidered in blue and silver. Mrs. B. Tyre, primrose tinted lace worn over crepe de chine of matching shade. Mrs. Cahill, leaf green crepe de chine model. Mrs. Dickson, powder blue georgette and silver lace. Mrs. Couldrey, gown of black crepe de chine with panelled front of ecru lace. Mrs. Roberts, black georgette gown beaded in silver. Mrs. Martin, dove grey floral ninon gown. Miss K. Dickson, bois de rose georgette frock with lace panel. Miss E. Shepherd, dainty frock of apricot georgette with godets of silver lace. Miss O. K. McGill, corsage of ivory souple satin studded with brilliants and full georgette skirt, with petalled hem. Miss Gilfillan, bouffant frock of powder blue taffeta with hem of silver lace. Miss I. Gilfillan, dainty l'rock of net with skirt composed of layers of frills. Miss Dickson, frock of turquoise blue, the corsage being daintily beaded. Miss Thelma Cross, bouffant frock of cyclamen taffeta with yoke and hem of cloth of silver. Miss Fernley, delphinium blue crepe de chine gown relieved with ecru lace. Miss Jean Chambers, frock of wedgewood blue, banded with lace. Miss N. Fitzpatrick (Te Arolia), hyacinth blue gown with scalloped bands of embroidery. Miss D. McPhail, rose taffeta and diamante frock. Miss Wilkinson, frock of flame georgette with diamante girdle. Miss Thelma Couldrey, gown of black chiffon velvet. Miss Mina Hammond, frock of nile green georgette with lace to tone. Miss Olive Reed, peacock blue georgette gown with relief of ecru lace. Miss Roberts, lavender georgette french tucked with panels of lace. Miss TVoodhouse, black crepe de chine gown heavily beaded in silver. Miss Faceer, pervenche blue lace gown with sash of silver tissue. Miss E. Steele, midnight blue crepe de chine frock with transparent hem of palest pmk georgette. Miss Batt, period frock of eau de nil taffeta. Miss Goodridge, frock of gold tissue with skirt inset with gold lace. Miss S. Kahn, cerise georgette frock with skirt.. Miss M. WTiite, delphinium blue lace over self-toned crepe de chine. Miss White, frock of duchess blue satin relieved with silver. Miss M. Saunders, lilac crepe de chine gown. Miss G. Wilson, midnight blue georgette with uneven hem line. Miss R. Wilson, turquoise blue georgette frock with petalled skirt.
