DANCE ON DIOMEDE

OFFICERS ENTERTAIN Captain L. V. AVelln, D. 5.0., R.N., and the officers of H.M.S. Diomede gave a delightful dance on board the ship last evening in farewell to their Auckland friends. Blags, streamers and foliage decorated the quarter deck and an excellent orchestra provided a splendid selection of new dance music. The guests were welcomed by Captain W ells. Among those present were:—Mrs. G. T. C. P. Swabey, Mrs. Bradley, Mrs. Attwood, Mrs. Addil, Mrs. J. Selby Tuppen, Mrs. Mclntosh, Mrs. Norman, Mrs. Longsdon, Mrs. H. Wilson, Mrs. Mervyn Reed, Mrs- Watson, Mrs. Lloyd, Mrs. Holmes, Miss Carslalte, Miss Audrey Bayly, Miss Tripp, Miss Margaret Tripp, Miss Walton, Miss Gwen Fullerton, Miss Marjorie Vaile, Miss Leslie Waller, Miss M. Jackson, Miss V. Jackson, Miss Janet Clarkson, Miss Nancy Coltaeck, Miss Ethne Lloyd. Miss Holmes and Miss Sybil Martin.
