BIRKENHEAD RATEPAYERS
Information regarding the procedure to be adopted when forming a volunteer fire brigade was supplied by the United Fire Brigades’ Association in a letter received by the Birkenhead Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association last evening. It was decided to wait and see what provision the borough council will make for fire-fighting appliances in this year’s estimates. The secretary reported that a letter had been sent to Mr. E. C. Gage, district telegraph engineer drawing attention to the district’s need for slot and automatic telephones.
