WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED In response to representations made by the Waikato Returned Soldiers' Association on behalf of returned soldiers seeking employment, the Forestry Department has advised the secrearv Mr. C. Norrie, that work can be found for 25 men. A social reunion was held by the Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association last evening. Among the guess were Major-General R. Young, oScercommanding the New Zealand Forces An excellent programme of music was provided. Auxiliary members of the Hamilton Fire Brigade will in future be called to duty by telephone in the event ot outbreaks occurring after midnight. A direct telephone system from the lire station to the firemen’s homes on the “party line" principle has been installed. On the alarm being given to the station, those members of the brigade living away will be simultaneously notified, and told the whereabouts of the outbreak.
