BARRY DECLINES RACE.—The world’s sculling champion, Bert Barry, has sent a reply to Major Godsell declining his offer of £SOO and expenses for a race at Salt Lake City. Barry says he is willing to defend his title on the Putney to Mortlake course, but is not likely to entertain an offer to row Burns in Australia.
