EXPEDITION IN BURMA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) CALCUTTA, Sunday. The expedition which went into the Burmese triangle in order to release slaves has returned to Calcutta. A final batch of 1,028 slaves was released. No slaves now remain in the area. At a largely-attended meeting the commissioner announced the definite abolition of slavery in the Kachin Hii s. Generous compensation had been paid and henceforth there will exist ,io further right to possess slaves or to receive compensation.
