“LONG LIVE SOVIET”
AUSTRALIAN MAY DAY MR. BRUCE ON SCAFFOLD (Unites P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 9.5 a.m. BRISBANE, To-day. The May Day procession was noteworthy for its red banners, on which were “Long Live Soviet Russia” and similar inscriptions, also an effigy of Mr. Bruce, the Federal Prime Minister, on a scaffold. At Perth, a Communist disturbance occurred during the May Day procession. Four Communists were arrested, and the others were dispersed.
