Queen With Costermongers

“Among My People” (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) LONDON, Sunday. “I want to sit among my people.” said Queen Mary, in refusing a box and selecting a front seat in the balcony at a cinrema in Bethnal Green. Her Majesty was present to hear* a performance of “I Pagliaeei,” by me local Choral Society, of which she is patroness. The audience was largelycomposed of costermongers, many of whom wore their “pearlies.” The denizens of the East End packed the gaily-decorated streets and the roofs and windows of the houses past which the Queen drove. They cheered her tumultuously as she passed.
