FROZEN AND CHILLED MEAT (United. P.A.—By Telegraph Copyright) (Australian Press Association) Reed. Noon. LONDON. Thurs. The Council of the Royal Agricultural Society carried a resolution urging on the Government the desirability of frozen and chilled meat from countries ■where foot-and-mouth disease exists being retained in the cold stores of the ports of Great Britain for a sufficient time to allow the virus, which is possibly present in the marrow bones, to die. Sir Merrik Burrell suggested that the period necessary was 76 days, including the time in the ship’s refrigerator.
