RUMOUR DENIED
OFFER TO PURCHASE ALL RADIO AND CABLES EMPIRE COMMUNICATIONS (Australian P.A.—United Service > (United P.A. —By Telegraph—Copyrightj Reed. 11.43 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The '’Financial News” publishes a rumoured offer by a powerful industrial and financial syndicate to the Imperial Government for the purchase of the Empire cable and wireless services. The Australian delegates to the conference emphatically deny that any such proposal is within the knowledge of the conference. Mr. Walter Baker, a Labour member of the House of Commons, will question Mr. Baldwin on Tuesday, as to whether he has received an offer for the purchase of the whole means of Imperial communications.
