HOWICK MAIN HIGHWAYS
Following the recent deputation which waited on the Main Highways Board in connection with the main highway from Panmure Bridge to Howick, a letter was received at the meeting of the Howick Town Board last evening instructing it to wait until the board’s programme had been brought down. This was expected to be at an early date, when something tangible would be available for the town board to work on.
The town clerk reported that building permits for last year amounted to «£ 15,500, being equally divided between houses, brick shops and the new Marine Hotel.
