POPULAR SCHOOL TEACHER

HUNTLY PRESENTATIONS

No more striking evidence could bt shown of the esteem in which Mr. W ill Edgerley, formerly headmaster of the Huntly School, was held than the series of presentations which were made to him prior to his departure for New Lynn. His pupils’ token was a gold chain, while his staff followed with a leather bowling bag. The school committee’s gift was a gold-mounted pen and pencil; the Horticultural Society’s a cheque and suitcases, while the bowlers added their quota in the shape of a handsome solid silver watch. In replying to the various donors for their handsome presents, Mr. Edgerley made feeling responses, but perhaps his address to his old pupils had a strong tinge of sadness, and this was his hardest task in a round of pleasantries.
