STRIFE ON WAIPIATA ACCUSED MAN REMANDED Angus McLean, aged 31, ex-bosun of the s.s. Waipiata, appeared at the Police Court to-day on a charge of causing actual bodily harm to the bosun, Angus McKay, on Friday evening. Evidence given on Saturday was to the effect thaT - accused had hit McKay with a hammer in self-de-Sub-Inspector McCarthy said to-day that McKay was progressing in hospital, but it was not yet possible to g a v when he would be discharged. McLean* was remanded for a fortnight, bail being fixed at £SO.
