VICTORIA LEAGUE
GUESTS OF HONOUR On Friday evening the Victoria League sub-committee gave a charming party in the league rooms for the dual purpose of welcoming home Miss Thelma St. Clair Whyte, who has been for a trip abroad, and to say farewell to Miss Sally Tancred, who has acted as secretary to the committee for the last year. The chairman, Mrs. L. S. Rickerby, welcomed Miss St. Clair Whyte, and presented her with a posy of flowers, and presented Miss Tancred with an attache case from the members. Amusing competitions were arranged, and were won by the Misses Cerruty. Redstone, Maxfield. and Edgecombe. BRIDGE EVENING Mrs. E. Shrimski gave an enjoyable | party at her home in Epsom on Saturday evening, when she wore a charming frock of black sequined georgette to receive her guests. The lounge room, where several tables were in play, was attractively decorated with autumn flowers. Among the guests were; Mrs. G. Pezaro, wearing a frock of black petalled georgette. Mrs. J. Yock, frock of Oriental brocaded tissue. Mrs. T. Davis, whose frock was of black georgette. Mrs. J. Gaudin, in a black and gold georgette frock. Mrs. J. Dicketts, georgette frock of black and white toning. Mrs. R. Israel, white brocaded frock, bordered with fringe. Mrs. Len Mitchell, frock of iris mauve georgette. Mrs. G. M. Pezaro, wistaria mauve frock of georgette. Mrs. Hornblow, black satin charmeuse frock. Mrs. Pack wood, frock of black and gold embossed lame. Mrs. S. Pezaro, sunset rose frock of crepe de chine. Miss R. Ballin, steel beaded frock of black georgette. Miss Xancy Danglow, turquoise blue taffetas frock, inset with silver lace. Miss Louise Jourdaine, frock of petunia georgette. Miss Madeline Gaspar, flower patterned frock of ninon. Miss p. Pezaro, frock of black lace mounted on peach georgette. Miss K. Marks, hyacinth blue crepe de chine frock. RUAKURA FARM DANCE The hall at the Ruakura. experimental farm looked very gay on Saturday evening, flautning the farm colours of black and gold, amid masses of palms and gay lights. The occasion was a very jolly dance at which airs. Munro, the wife of the superintendent, was hostess. She received her young guests in a frock of jade embossed georgette. Hewlett, J. Banks, B. Johnson, D. Wilson, H. Gaze, M. Palmer, Christian, B. Taylor, Pleasants. DR. MARGARET KNIGHT FAREWELL PARTY Mrs. Coker gave a delightful afternoon tea on Friday. The guest of honour was Dr. Margaret Knight, who leaves for England soon. Among those present were; Dr. Margaret Knight, Mrs. McCaw, Mrs. Craig, Mrs. Wilmot, Mrs. Kenneth McCormack, Mrs. Fox, Miss Becket (Marton) lf Mrs. Havelock-Green, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. Walton.
