His Excellency the Governor-Gene-ral, Sir Charles Fergusson, and the Lady Alice Fergusson, have intimated that they will be present at the official welcome to Chaplain, the Rev. and Mrs. Vickery, at the Seamen's Institute, Emily on April 11. Miss Hellaby is an Auckland visitor to Rotorua. Mrs. F. W. Miller, of Wellington, is visiting; Auckland. Mrs. R. D. Rogers is spending a long holiday at Motutapu. Mrs. H. B. Morton, of Auckland, is visiting Christchurch. Mrs. C. Clarkson leaves town this week for a visit to Rotorua. Dr. Hilda Northcroft has returned to town from a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. Wicksteed will spend Easter week at Waiwera House, Rotorua. Miss H. Douglas has returned to Hamilton after a visit to Auckland. * * * Mrs. M. A. Martin has returned to Auckland after a visit to South Africa. Miss Olive Taylor has returned tc Christchurch after a visit to Auckland. * * * Mrs. K. Raymond is leaving town to spend Easter week-end in Rotorua. * * * Miss Peggy Keys, of Ridings Road, Remuera, will spend Easter at Whatipu. • * * Miss Watts and Miss Harry, of Auckland, are on a visit to Mount Cook. Sir "Walter and Lady Stringer are at present paying a visit to Christchurch. Miss Jean Power, of Dunedin, is the guest in Auckland of Mrs. K. Jackson, Epsom. Miss Amy Warren, of Herne Bay, leaves town this week for a visit to Rotorua. * * * Mrs. Aitken is an Auckland visitor to Hamilton, and is the guest of Mrs. W. McNicol. • • * Miss Joyce Johnston, of Xorthcote, will leave this week for a holiday visit to Whatipu. Miss A. Holland, of Auckland, is visiting Rotorua, where she is staying with relatives. * • * The Misses Nancy and Xoni Martin, of Remuera, leave town to-morrow for a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. O. Symes has left town for a motor trip through Rotorua, Gisborne, and Waikaremoana. Mrs. Wilfred C. Fencourt has returned to Hamilton after spending a holiday in Auckland. * t* * Mrs. Haseler, who has been spending the summer at Devonport, has returned to Hamilton. Miss McGregor is an Auckland visitor to Rotorua, where she is the guest of Mrs. Giesen. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Hulbert, of Remuera, are leaving town by car this week for a visit to Rotorua. 0 0 0 Miss Katheleen Arnold, of Sydney, who is visiting Auckland, will spend a few days at Roto-iti during Easter. * * * The Misses Ida and Edith Grice, of Hamilton, were in Auckland last week prior to their departure for Australia.

Dixon, and Miss W. A. Valentine, of Wellington, are staying at the Star Hotel. Mrs. A. Barnaby, of Hataitai, Wellington, is at present in Auckland, and is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Angus W. Gordon, Crescent Road, Epsom. 0 0 * Mrs. C. H. Grant Cowen, of Auckland, sailed from Wellington by the Port Hunter for a visit to England. She expects to be away for five or six months. • * * Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson. will address a community meeting of members of the Y.W.C.A. in the association’s assembly hall this evening, at 7.30. * 0 ■* Mr. and Mrs. A. Henderson, of Merivale Avenue, Epsom, are leaving town this evening for the South and will spend about three weeks’ holiday in Christchurch. • * * Miss J. R. Johnson and Miss Barton have returned to Auckland after a motor tour through Xew Zealand. They are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Boyd, of Takapuna. The musical circle of the Lyceum Club hel da very enjoyable opening evening in the clubrooms last night, when about 70 members and their friends were present. Mr. and Mrs. Patric Curvven, of the Maurice Moscovitch Company, returned to town last evening, after spending some days at Rotorua. They are staying at Royal Court. Mr. and Mrs. William Kay have returned to town from a tour through Taupo, Wairakei, and Waitomo. They also recently visited Christchurch, where thev stayed with relatives. * * 0 Mr. W. McGruer and Miss Lorna McGruer, of Remuera, are at present spending a holiday at Lake Waikaremoana. They have also been visiting Gisborne, Napier, and Wanganui.
