N.Z.A.A.A. MEETS RECORDS RECOGNISED Press Association. WELLINGTON, To-day. At a meeting of the N w Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last evening an appeal against the decision of the referee in the 100yds Ladies’ Otago Championship was upheld. The winner, Miss Stewart, was allowed to start in the final to defend the title though she had not run in a heat. The expenses of the tour of the cyclists. Gray and Standon, totalling £l6O, is to be distributed as follow; Wellington £43 10s. Wanganui and Taranaki £29, Canterbury £l4 3 os, Otago £l4 10s. The Australian Amateur Athletic Union advised that the following Australian and New Zealand records had been accepted:—* Running High Jump.—E. M. Davidson, Gft 2iin. Mile Medley Relay Race. —J. Martin. W, Hunt, A. Walker, J. Carlton, Smin 35 3-ssec. Decathlon. —Eins Keskinen, 8443.7 S points. Permission was received from the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia and New Zealand for the latter to become a separate association of the affiliated international union. Dr. Porritt, the English delegate of the N.Z.A.A.A., advised that the question of a visit by Lowe and Lord Burghley was still very much in the air. It was decided that all future New Zealand representative teams be selected by one delegate from the South and one from the North Island. T. Oakley’s performance of three miles in 7min *l3sec at Masterton was accepted as a record. The complete withdrawal •£ any remarks previously uttered concerning the conduct of the Wanganui Association was made by the president, Mr. R. W. McViliy. who tendered a profound apology. He said that evidently it had not been explained to the Wanganui Association that he had not considered intentional the act which necessitated his action as referee at the Auckland meeting, in disqualifying a Wanganui competitor.
