MEETING OF POWER BOARD The policy to be adopted next year with, regard to extensions was d»«cussed at the meeting of the Tauranga Electric-Power Board on Friday, when it was decided that the resident engineer should prepare a comprehensive report upon the question. There was a full attendance at the meeting, and Mr. T. Lochead presided. The financial report showed that for the 11 months ending February 29, the sum of £18,206 had been received for current and motor hire, trading and repayments totalling £7,629, and the total revenue from all sources *vas £29,965. The engineer gave a list of interruptions, most of them having bm caused by trees coming into conta -i with the lines. The county council and private owners are to be notified to have the matter remedied. An amount was voted for illuminating the board’s premises in connection with the opening of the new railway line. The secretary to the railway celebration committee has been advised by the Minister of Railways that there will be free railway transit on the .sec tion from Taneatua to Tauranga and Tawhia to Tauranga on the opening day. There will be holiday excursion fares from all parts of the North Island to Tauranga.
