FIRE AT PUKEKAWA
FARMHOUSE DESTROYED GELIGNITE EXPLODES Press Association. TUAKAU, Wednesday. Fire completely destroyed Mr. A. E. Cox’s eight-roomed house at Pukekawa early this morning. The outbreak started in an implement shed, near the house, in which gelignite was stored, and when this exploded Mr. and Mrs. Cox were awakened and made their escape from the house. The house was soon well alight and nothing was saved. Valuable machinery in the shed was also destroyed.
