MAN VERSUS MOTOR
HUNDRED YARDS SPRINT A race over 100 yards between a motor-car and an athlete will be held at the Mangere gymkhana to-morrow. From a standing start a car with fairly good acceleration may be expected to cover the tirst 100 yards In from 11 to 13 seconds, although after that its speed would naturally have increased well beyond that which a runner could There will be an attempt by motorcyclists to complete the unformed circuit of the proposed speedway track. A prize of £ 5 is offered for the first machine round. _ The Olympic fund will benefit by the profits of the function.
