Obscene Language, —Clifford William Payne, aged 43, charged at the Police Court to-day with using obscene language, was fined £2.
For New Zealand Room. —“TheDre? Circle ” an oils sketch painted by Mr. W. Robert Johnson, of Sydney, and the Auckland Art Gallery’s latest acquisition, lias been placed in the New Zealand room at the gallery.
Excursion Trains. —Particulars of the issue of excursion tickets and the train arrangements in connection with the Ngaruawahia regatta on March 17 and the Ohinemuri races at Paeroa on March 17 and 19. are advertised in this issue of The Sun.
Struck by Tramcar. —As Mr. John Bailey, of 40 Marlborough Street, Dominion Road, was crossing the tram lines opposite the Civic Square about noon yesterday, he was knocked down by a tram. Mr. Bailey’s condition is not serious.
Knocked Down by Motor. —Auttir Webster, aged five, was knocked down by a motor-car at the corner of Waima Street and Great North Road yesterday afternoon. He was admitted to hospital suffering from cuts end bruises. His home is in Surrey Street, Grey Lynn.
Man’* Back Injured.—An employ of J. T. Julian and Sons. Ltd., Mr. William Heavey, aged 46, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital last evening suffering from fractured ribs and back injuries. His condition is not serious. He lives at Summer Street, Ponsonby.
