BRIDE-ELECT HONOURED

The Farmers’ tearooms, Opotiki, were beautifully decorated on Saturday afternoon in honour of Miss Margaret Thompson, of the clerical staff of the Opotiki Dairy Association, who is to be married this week. About SO friends were present. Vocal items by Mrs. G. Murray, a competition, and an amusing little recitation by Mrs. Stuart passed the afternoon pleasantly. Afternoon tea was dispensed by girl friends. Mrs. Sinclair, on behalf of friends, handed Miss Thompson a cheque as a token of their esteem and appreciation. Miss Thompson thanked them for their kind thoughts, and expressed the hope that she would see them often, as her future home would be in Whakatane.
