Two Pretty Brides in Blithesome Gowns
PEARSON—CAMPBELL
Miss Dulcie Campbell, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Colin Campbell, of Tararu (Thames) was married last Wednesday to Mr. Alfred Pearson, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Pearson, of Cambridge. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Isaacs, and took place in the Tararu Sunday School, which had been gaily decorated by friends.
The bride wore a dainty frock of pale cream crepe de chine, and the bridal veil was artistically arranged under a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a lovely bouquet of pale pink and white flowers.
The bridesmaid was Miss Ivy Campbell, the bride’s cousin, and she was dressed in opal blue crepe de chine, with a pretty hat to accent the blue of her frock.
The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Bob Pearson, of Cambridge. A reception was held after the ceremony, at which about 100 guests were entertained.
The bride’s mother received the guests and was gowned in cedar brown silk Bengaline, with apricot trimmings and hat to tone. The bridegroom’s mother wore a heliotrope floral crepe frock and a black hat relieved with heliotrope. The honeymoon is to be spent in the South, and the bride’s going-away dress was of bois de rose crepe faille, worn with a hat to tone, and fox furs.
CAMPLIN—ANSELL The wedding took place this afternoon at All Saints’ Churcn, Ponsonby, of Elia, the eldest daughter of Mr. Charles Ansell to Geoffrey, the eldest son of Mr. J. J. Camplin, of Parnell. The Rev. W. Averill performed the ceremony and the bride was given away by her father. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Cyril Camplin as best man and Mr. Ewen Matheson was groomsman. Georgette in a delicate nuance of dawn pink was superimposed on deeper-toned crepe de chine to fashion the bride’s attractive frock, and with it she wore a veil of misty tulle embroidered in a pretty silken tracery of flowers and leaves. A chaplet of orange blossoms held her veil in place, and she carried a shower bouquet of rose-coloured leaves. The Misses Gwenda and Frances Ansell, sisters of the bride, attended as her maids, and wore charming frocks of iris mauve and periwinkle blue georgette, made on effective lines of sheer simplicity and lightly trimmed with gauging. They had headdresses to tone and carried prettily harmonising bouquets. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Farmers’ tearooms, where a number of guests were received by the bride’s aunt, who was smartly gowned in black georgette.
