SWIMMING CARNIVAL

CHAMPIONS AT PAHIATUA Press Association. PAHIATUA, To-day. A most successful night swimming carnival, the second this season, was held by the Pahiatua Club on Saturday. There was a very large gathering. due to the presence of champions. There was a big party of Wanganui competitors, and also representatives from a number of other towns. Dowsett, the Wanganui 100 yards New Zealand champion, won the Impett Cup for 220 yards. Miss Stratton, of Wanganui, the women’s intermediate 100 yards champion of New Zealand, won in 66 2-3 sec the women’s handicap. Both gave brilliant performances.
