RESTRICTED SERVICES

BIRKENHEAD BUSES The first day in Birkenhead yesterday without the fleet of the Marine Suburbs Bus Company running was quite a profitable one for the four ta.xis running as omnibuses. The Blue Star Company having purchased one of the old company’s buses, ran it solely from the wharf to Highbury. This was the trip upon which the licensing authority had imposed the penal fare of 6d. Yesterday the Highbury trip was at the old rate of 3d. The peak load 5.10 boat from the city was well catered for, there being four taxis and four Blue Star buses, and although there was only standing room, who wished to do so could get on.
