FAREWELL TO TEACHER On the eve of her departure from Te Kuiti, Miss McNally, of the infant department of the Te Kuiti District High School, was the recipient of a handsome travelling rug and a wristlet watch from the teachers and scholars, as tokens of the esteem in which she was held. The headmaster, Mr. Smith, in making the presentation expressed regret at Miss McNally’s departure, and said she would carry with her the good wfishes of the staff and scholars for her future welfare.
Efforts are being made to arrange for the Australian bowlers, who will be passing through Te Kuiti on Thins-

Cambridge on Monday next, and on i Wednesday they will repeat the perI formance in Te Kuiti. when the proI ceeds of the local effort will be devoted ; toward defraying the cost of the erec- ! tion of the swimming weir on the i Mangaokewa River. m m m The Te Kuiti Fire Brigade will compete at Te Aroha on Saturday next for the Howden Shield and the Goidfields Shield. The team will comprise Supt. J. C. Henderson, Foreman F. Drew, and Firemen J. C. Bremner and R. Edgar.
