GAIETIES AT HAMILTON

CONFERENCE VISITORS ENTERTAINED

As a suitable finale to a week of entertainment at Hamilton, a brilliant ball was given on Friday evening last by Dr. and Mrs. Brewis and Dr. and Mrs. Douglas. The dancing was held in the High School, which was decorated in a most novel fashion with gaily-coloured Eastern screens and palms. A large class-room was transformed into a most comfortable lounge and other school rooms were used for supper and smoke-rooms. Outside the twinkling of hundreds of coloured lights foretold of the gaiety within. The Click Clack Radio Orchestra, from Auckland, supplied excellent dance music. The hostesses were smartly gowned for the occasion, Mrs. Douglas wearing a becoming frock of black georgette and gold lace, and Mrs. Brewis in a black and gold beaded gown. Among the numerous guests were: Mrs. Bonner (London) who wore a frock of soft rainbow-tinted georgette. Mrs. A. G. Waddell, a very becoming shrimp coloured georgette and beaded coatee. Mrs. W. H. Parkes (Auckland), jade and black frock. Mrs. Gower, an attractive frock of green and silver, with cherry embroidery. Mrs. W. H. Hume, black embossed georgette. Mrs. C.
