BLAZE AT PARNELL
OUTBREAK IN CLEARING BRIGADE PREVENTS SPREAD The Parnell Fire Brigade was called out this afternoon to give a hand in checking a fire which had been lit to clear off gorse and rubbish, but which had got slightly out of hand. The blaze was in the valley behind the houses in Parnell and Brighton Roads and St. Stephen’s Avenue. About an acre of dry vegetation was well ablaze. The brigade had no difficulty in keeping the fire from spreading.
