CRICKETERS OPEN TOUR Press Association. NELSON, To-day. The Australian cricketers opened their tour against a Nelson eleven this morning on Trafalgar Park. An excellent wicket had been prepared, but an overnight shower had taken some of the sting out of it. The outfield was fast. Oxenham and Alexander were omitted from the Australian eleven. Australia won the toss, and sent Nelson in. Neale and Kinzett opened for Nelson, Neale scoring two 2’s oft Morton’s first over. Me Name© bowled at the other end, and kept the batsmen quiet. After half an hour the score was none fdr 20. , Neale reached double figures with a, leg glance for four. There was a double change at 20, Grimmett and Blackie going in. OTAGO TEAM Press Association.
