NATIONAL AND LYRIC
“HIGH SCHOOL HERO” Not in many a day has a photoplay contained more real human interest and comedy than Fox Films “High School Hero,” which is being shown at the National and Lyric Theatres. This picture is a fast-moving comedy-drama of the modern American shows this great American institution, the high school, as it is, full of clean life and fun. It revolves around the story of two boys who are rivals for the same girl and all of the intricacies involved in trying to win the girl. David Butler, the director, should receive much credit for the way in which he handled the players and the situations. He has made the story absolLitely human, showing a keen understanding of the youth of to-day. Sally Phipps gives a spirited performance as the flappey and Nick Stuart and John Darrow give interesting portrayals as the rival boy friends. David Rollins is very convincing as the bashful scholar. “Tracked by the Police,” featuring Rin-Tin-Tin, the dog actor, is the second attraction on the programme at both theatres.
