MOUNTAIN RESERVE

MANGATAUTARI GAZETTED Information was received by the Matamata County Council, which met yesterday, that Maungatautari mountain would shortly be gazetted as a reserve, with powers of control vested in the council, and that the mountain would automatically then become a bird sanctuary as well. The council decided to contribute £lO 10s to the Moncrieff-llood fund, in reply to a letter from the Mayor of Wellington on the subject.
