At the opening of the trial of the youth Edward Hickman, who is charged with kidnapping and murdering Marion Parker, the 12-year-old daughter of Mr. Perry Parker, a wealthy Los Angeles banker, the huge crowds which had gathered at the Court threatened Hickman and his counsel. Later the Judge announced that he would assign the case to another Court in an effort to satisfy the charge that he was prejudiced. The police took additional precautions to guard Hickman against lynching.—A. and N.Z.
