The diplomatic correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says it is understood that Maxim Litvinoff, Soviet Assistant Commissar for Foreign Affairs, will probably seek another interview with Sir Austen Chamberlain, British Foreign Minister, at Geneva at the end. of February or in March, when the sitting of the Committee on Security will be followed by a meeting of the League Council. —A. and N.Z.
Litvinoff was one of the leaders of Russia’s delegation to Geneva last November. After the conference he had an interview with Sir Austen Chamberlain, which, although fruitless, may lead to- the beginning of a change in Anglo-Russian relations. BROUGHT UP ON GUNS TRAINING YOUNG RUSSIA By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, Thursday. Mr. W. Wellock, former Labour member of the House of Commons for Worcestershire, who recently paid a visit to Itussia, has made remarkable disclosures concerning the methods adopted there to increase the military spirit. He says that girls as well as boys are learning to handle rifles. Girl corps are being formed in the trade union clubs for this purpose. hlr. Wellock said he saw half a mUlipn young, people march to Red Square at Moscow in connection with the international youth movement.
