WATER RATIONING
PLIGHT RECORD CONSUMPTION (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, To-day. It is very probable that the restrictions on the use of water in Hamilton Borough will have to be reimposed until the new pump is in operation," commented Mr. R. Worley, borough engineer, to-day. The present’consumption in Hamilton works out at about 80 gallons a head dally, or twice that of a town, of the average size of Hamilton should he. The amount used in the borough yesterday was three times the total tt the reservoir capacity. The coneumptlon shattered all records, 1,256,000 gallons being used, compared with the previous highest figure, 1,175,000 gallong used on Monday. It appears the partial lifting of restrictions has had the opposite effect to what was intended, and as a consequence of the too liberal use of enter it is likely that the Hamilton Borough will again be placed on water rations, in the sense that restrictions will have to be re-s«iforced for a short Wrtod.
