Julius, has from a week’s visit to Washinfton. Ht said he was particularly impressed with the work of standardisation being done by Mr. H. C. Hoover, Secretary for Commerce, and the investigation into agricultural economy undertaken by the Department of Agnculture. It was probable that Australian activities would be along, these lines in the future. Mr. Julius said it was not unlikely that an Australian investigator would to Washington for a year to Jtudy these matters, particularly as to how agricultural marketing can keep pace with production and the provision of the middleman. With regard to rubber, Australia *ould have to hold a watching brief, and if she found climate, soil and economic conditions suitable, she would quickly take advantage of the new developments in the growing of rubber. -A. and N.Z.
