HIGHWAYS BOARD'S DECISION
WHAU BRIDGE OFFER An amended ofTer from the District Highways Council regarding a proposed structure to replace the obsolete Whau Jlridge h&s been received by the New X-ynn Town Board. The Highways Board adhered to its former decision to subsidise only a width of 18ft carriageway with two footpaths, each five feet in width on the suggested new bridge, but owing however to altered conditions since the original application was made, the board has now decided to subsidise a on a basis of £2 to £l. The town board has decided to request the Auckland City Council to take over negotiations with the Highways Board.
